Yo! Figured I'd write to everyone. The journals have been surprisingly quiet lately... even a little too peaceful for me. There's been some energetic guy writing every once in a while, though he's probably a little too energetic for my tastes.

There've probably been quite a few who've gone to the wilderness recently, so everyone already knows it's a great place to beat the heat. Anyone who doesn't know, though... Maa, I guess you could call this something like an open invitation, eh?

Looks like Crow doesn't need a search party for his friend anymore, but if the team wants to assemble to wander around for anything, we could have that set up. The map is showing new islands again, and I'd like to think that our adventurer team isn't limited to exploring the wilderness when there are islands yet to be seen on the second floor as well.

...and as a last note, what's this about playing poker? Bastet told me to ask Drake about that. Heh, you wouldn't be the only one with a poker face.

...hn, I'd have never guessed so much time had passed. You'd think a guy could just lose his journal, grab another one from the journal makers and head back home--but no, it didn't work that way.

Instead, the elevator REFUSED to cooperate and took me to the fourth floor, where I wound up in some forsaken wasteland of a place, and when I finally got back here, it's over two weeks after I'd picked up a new journal.

And I just found out about this NOW because I finally decided to look at my journal. It didn't feel like I was down there for two weeks, though.

I find it interesting that the wilderness chose to reveal to us the elevator at around the same time that a number of islands suddenly appeared. Convenient, eh? Seems like there's some more exploring to do so long as we could gather everyone.

Venus, you have a LOT of stuff... You don't REALLY need all these things, do you? So I'll be gathering anything that I found in the wilderness while it was still a city, and I'm returning it to my home before heading out again. And in that case, Baretta, you're going to see an accumulation of stuff in the house--let me know if you'd rather find your own place anytime soon.

...maybe I should've asked what streets that store was by.

Sorry Venus! You too, Nova... I guess I got distracted by a lot of the city things and didn't get there on time.

And now whoever's in the wilderness gets to see first-hand that it changes. So now it feels like we're in a really huge boat--correct me if I'm wrong.

I'll be trying to find the deck to get myself better oriented.

Looks like they've finally put me in charge of an adventurer group, so if you're interested in wandering The Wilderness, then you could always talk to me to schedule dropping by that place. Even though I've never seen it actually look like a wilderness...

Gungnir has suggested that I speak with Valkyrie concerning interest in an adventurer position. Leave me a note, and we could set up an appointment to discuss a few things about qualifications.

By the way, the wilderness has changed again. From that dark labyrinth, it's now become something totally different. Up for an adventure? Let's gather our exploration team and check it out.

He'd returned to a beautiful village where it always seemed green; it did but didn't feel quite like home. His uncovered black eye scrutinized his surroundings in disbelief--having finally returned to this village seemed so unreal, so impossible. Yet he had somehow managed and breathed out a sigh of relief.

But wandering through the village, he found it was rather empty. The peace and quiet wasn't so much comforting as frighteningly unsettling. And aside from this, the man felt as though he'd left something important to him elsewhere... Perhaps he could still go back and get it.

With that, he turned away from the village and dashed through a forest of darkness. In the blink of an eye, he glanced over his shoulder, but the village was nowhere to be found. No matter where he turned or where he went, there was only darkness. And his path seemed to grow darker still as he continued forward in one direction or another...

Then he felt someone take him by the hand and lead him into a bedroom. Small hands roved over him as he unmasked himself to kiss the unseen figure. Passionate heat rushed through him, and he'd lifted the figure into a very questionable position before completely filling her up. Despite this, another pair of hands... and then another... and yet one more... all were touching him, teasing him...

Suddenly both his eyes were open to find four women clinging on to him. One was a buxom, strawberry blonde with misty blue eyes; another was a smaller blonde with brilliant green eyes with strange swirls in them. Then there was a young, pink-haired woman with amazingly bright jade eyes, and finally there was a cute black-haired woman with impressive dark eyes. All four held him as if he was about to disappear.

"I'm right here... I would never leave without you."

He was uncertain who he was directing the statement to, and before he could find out, he suddenly was fading away. The first woman wondered momentarily where he was. The second whispered an apology before locking arms with a man with a patch over one eye. The third faded away, vanishing in darkness. The last cried that he'd broken a promise.

Reaching out, he felt a sudden mental burst as images of all sorts flowed into his mind. Though they flashed so quickly it was like he memorized every single detail, as if one of his eyes was like a camera taking anything and everything in. There was so much information that he simply couldn't handle it anymore and suddenly all thoughts and senses collapsed into nothingness.

PERSONALITY: Cool, laid-back, aloof. Serious and rational when facing an enemy; knows whether it's time to fight or time to run but running is hardly seen in practice. Loyal and dedicated. Places emphasis on teamwork as the most important ninja discipline. Emotionally distant except in extreme circumstances; treasures his teammates but is hesitant to express it.

BACKGROUND:
[IC HISTORY]
Kakashi is a high-ranking Konoha ninja and considered one of the strongest in their village. His skills namely lie in ninjutsu (ninja techniques that are heavily dependent on chakra), but he is quite adept in taijutsu (body fighting or hand-to-hand combat) and genjitsu (ninja illusion techniques). Friends and foes alike known him as the powerful 'Copy Ninja' because of his sharingan left eye, which is said to have copied over a thousand techniques that are never demonstrated in the series--he focuses on basically using the same ten that we all already know he can use. His one and only original move is 'Chidori' (thousand birds), but it became upgraded to 'Raikiri' (lightning blade) when he was able to slice through a bolt of lightning.

Although his sharingan gives him great advantages in battle, its main disadvantage is that it constantly remains active and therefore quickly drains at his chakra. He will not use it unless absolutely necessary or when he knows there's a good opportunity to understand an opponent's techniques. (Note that nearly every non-training battle since Zabuza has been so tough that Kakashi almost always resorts to using his sharingan.) It is unknown when or how Kakashi's mangekyo sharingan variant became activated, but its abilities include long-range space-time manipulation and can send objects into different dimensions. However, this variant easily tires Kakashi; after three uses, he was hospitalized for a week.

Little more is known about Kakashi's life as he is not inclined to reveal anything about it. He had eventually become a member of Konohagakure ANBU (the Hokage's personal mobilization unit) and even became an ANBU squadron leader. When or why Kakashi left ANBU is unknown. Kakashi says that all who were important to him are dead--full details are currently unknown. Kakashi also clearly disapproves of Sasuke's intention to kill his brother Itachi; he says that nothing but emptiness awaits after revenge. What experience Kakashi has concerning revenge is also unknown.

A select few (mainly Team 7 since they're his students) are close to Kakashi, but he even keeps them at arm's length. He is willing to supervise them as they mainly teach themselves teach them; moreover, he advises them in situations that resemble his depressing past experiences. Despite this, he is unwilling to allow them to get too close to him and confirmed that all who were important to him are deceased. He has almost entirely evaded showing his face to anyone, and he does not divulge about his life or interests. When introducing himself to Team 7, he vaguely mentions having "many hobbies"--his only one of his most apparent hobbies is reading the "Icha Icha" series of pornographic novels written by Jiraiya. He is most commonly found reading one of these books during training sessions or speaking with his team, and he is comfortable reading these books in the open while wandering around Konohagakure.

From the way that Kakashi taught and trained Team 7, he tried to refrain from elaborating and only provided vague details of the past. When he admonished Sasuke about revenge, he spoke with sorrow and his actions or movements suggested regret. From the way he carries himself, he is ashamed about the past and wants to prevent it from repeating itself.

[PURGATORIUM HISTORY--apurgatorium]
The Purgatorium gods brought Hatake Kakashi to Purgatorium for his sin of 'Sloth'; in order to leave, he must learn to atone for his sin. However, he had other ideas and instead searched for some means of escape. During his time there, he made friends with many different people (as Purgatorium is a multi-fandom RP), such as Lime (Saber Marionette J), Rikku (Final Fantasy X-2), Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist), Matsumoto Rangiku (Bleach), and Makimachi Misao (Rurouni Kenshin)--of course, he met many more other people from different worlds who were also brought there for various 'sins'.

Although the gods say that the only way to leave Purgatorium is by atoning for one's sins, the deities make it somewhat difficult to do so. On the weekend of his birthday, the gods made people fall desperately in love with people other than those they would normally have feelings for. Shortly afterward, Kakashi had saved Rikku from a storm; they inevitably confessed having feelings for each other and got together. On another instance, the ninja found himself gender-swapped; while he'd entertained the possibility of same-sex sexual activities with his girlfriend, he was very quickly turned down and couldn't wait to return to his original male body.

Another important property of Purgatorium is that upon death a character loses his or her memories. Unfortunately for Kakashi, he died three times and lost memories of: (1) being Team 7's jounin sensei (2) loyalty, dedication, and allegance to Konoha (3) the name of the one who had given him his sharingan eye. Additionally, Szayel Apollo Grantz (Bleach) managed to capture Kakashi and perform various experiments on him, making the ninja a prototype for telepathic experimentation. After such experiments, Kakashi had forced, uncontrollable random bursts of telepathy.

After having disappeared for such a long time, he and Rikku broke up because (1) she and effectively fallen out of love with him (2) he'd changed so much that he didn't feel like he could be the same as the person he was when he'd originally fallen in love with her. Rikku shortly got together with her childhood friend, Gippal, and Kakashi, in attempts to move on, accepted Misao's feelings for him. Unfortunately, he disappeared shortly afterward...
